Summer Camps - The Confidence Clinic

Best Life Camps 2023

Children love our camps - they're a fun, safe and happy place. We have one golden rule for all children who attend our camps and that is to 'Be KInd'. Children learn best when they're happy and having fun so we ensure to include lots of outdoor games, arts and craft and fun activities.
We have been running camps since 2018 and this year we will be introducing new activities such as clay sculpting and new lessons as listed below. Our life lessons take place sitting in a circle on blankets and cushions. We chat and discuss each topic and then do an activity which is related. We know social skills are more important than ever so we break the ice with fun games and help kids to connect and make friends on day 1.

Parents regularly ask us - but what exactly do you do? It's a simple formula: All of our camps include

1. Arts and Craft activities,

2. Outside games,

3. Life lessons - we chat in a circle and discuss different topics. This is age appropriate - younger children have a shorter attention span. In the Senior Camp, we use examples and some excercises related to moving into Secondary School to help prepare any children for this transition. The same life lessons are covered in both camps.

4. We always do yoga or a guided meditation to help children to relax and learn how to calm their body and mind.

Our Best Life Camps have been developed using Life Coaching Techniques and philosophies that have been fine-tuned from over 10 years of coaching children. The underlying principle of our camps is that children learn best when they are happy, relaxed and having fun, while they play and make new friends they will be discovering new ways to feel confident and strong.

Examples of Topics Covered

  • Growing Strong Friendships - this is our first lesson
  • Learning to Love Yourself - Confidence boosing techniques
  • Coping with anxiety and worries
  • Dealing with Mean Words - Water off a ducks back
  • Standing up & Speaking up for yourself
  • The Growth Mindset - Keep Trying
  • Dealing with Drama - Rumours, Secrets & Lies
  • Learning to be a Good Loser

Important changes: Age & Ability:

This year, in 2023, we are dividing our camps into 2 seperate age camps: 6-10 year old, Junior Camp in the morning (9.30-12.30pm) and 10-12 years old, Senior Camp in the afternoon (1.30-4.30). We are not rigid on these age groups, there is flexibility to remain with friends and siblings. However we want to assist with the transition to Secondary School for the older children. So it will be discussed during our life lessons where appropriate, and exercises/games will be used. Please note that we may be able to offer additional hours for entire families attending if that is required to assist working parents. Please contact the Camp Manager when you book your places.

We have learned that when children are young, they are not always capable of sitting down and joining in during our life lessons. In our experience, children who have finished Junior Infants at a minimum will have the best camp experience.

If your child has any additional needs or a diagnosis which seriously impacts their ability to take part, it's essential that you call and let us know prior to the registration process. This helps us to understand their requirements and to determine whether or not the camp is a good fit for them. Those who need a lot of additional attention may not enjoy the camp. Please call the relevant Camp Manager Tracey or Caoimhe to discuss this.
