Summer Camps - The Confidence Clinic

Best Life Camps 2024

Children generally love our camps - they're a fun, safe and happy place. We have one golden rule for all children who attend our camps and that is to 'Be Kind'. Children learn best when they're happy and having fun so we ensure to include lots of fun games, arts and crafts and fun activities.

We have been running camps since 2018 and each year we love to help children settle in, make friends and enjoy the camp. We change the programme in some way to ensure returning children continue to learn and do different things. Our life lessons take place sitting in a circle on blankets and cushions. We chat and discuss each topic and then do an activity or game which is related. We know social skills are more important than ever, so we break the ice with fun games and help kids to connect and make friends on the first morning.

Parents regularly ask us - but what exactly do you do? It's a simple formula: All of our camps include

1. Arts and Craft activities; team work, painting, clay, colouring, crafts.

2. Outside games; non competitive games for all abilities.

3. Life lessons; we chat in a circle and discuss different topics. This is age-appropriate - younger children have a shorter attention span. In the Senior Camp, we use examples and some exercises related to moving into Secondary School to help prepare any children for this transition. The same life lessons are covered in both camps.

4. We always do a guided meditation to help children to relax and learn how to calm their body and mind.

Our Best Life Camps have been developed using Life Coaching & Mentoring Techniques and Philosophies that have been fine-tuned from over 11 years of coaching children. The underlying principle of our camps is that children learn best when they are happy, relaxed and having fun, while they play and make new friends they will discover new ways to feel confident and strong.

Topics Covered:

  • Growing your Friendships –Connecting with Others
  • Dealing with Mean or Tricky People
  • Boosting your Own Confidence
  • Speaking up for Yourself
  • The Growth Mindset (Keep trying)
  • Dealing with Worries
  • The Gratitude Attitude
  • Focus and Decisions

Hours:

9.30am - 2.30pm - 5 hours a day for 4 days

Important changes: Age & Ability:

If your child seriously struggles taking part in camps, it's essential that you call for a discussion, prior to the registration process. This helps us to understand their requirements and to determine whether or not the camp is a good fit for them. Those who need a lot of additional help or attention may not enjoy the group element of the camp. Please email us with your contact details to arrange a call; caoimhe@theconfidenceclinic.ie

If the camp is not suitable for your child, we may recommend one-to-one life coaching with one of our coaches in person or online to help them.

The camp is for children aged 6-12/13. Children should be in Junior Infant up to 6th class. We divide children into age-appropriate groups. There is flexibility to remain with friends and siblings. However, we want to assist with the transition to secondary chool for the older children. So it will be discussed during our life lessons with the older group aged 11-13.

We have learned that when children are very young, they are not always capable of sitting down and joining in during our life lessons, which is understandable. In our experience, children who have finished Junior Infants (at a minimum) will have the best camp experience.
